Chattanooga Tree Project (CTP) is dedicated to growing and sustaining Chattanooga’s urban forest through community engagement, education, and workforce development. Launched in 2025, CTP brings together local organizations, volunteers, and city partners to enhance green spaces, improve air quality, and foster a healthier environment for all. Through partnerships with Understory and Southeast Conservation Corps, we support workforce development programs that train individuals for careers in tree care, conservation, and urban forestry. Our initiatives include tree planting, forest restoration, advocacy, and hands-on educational programs for all ages. By working directly with residents, schools, and neighborhood groups, CTP strengthens community connections and ensures a greener, more resilient Chattanooga for generations to come.
Understory grows opportunities by growing trees, believing that the future of the urban canopy depends on the residents of the communities where trees take root. Through hands-on, paid training in urban forest management, Understory empowers participants to become advocates for their neighborhoods and drive community progress.
